Who Am I??!

This is Me! Susannah Jane Money-Schenk.

Human, Equine and Canine Osteopath!

Mummy to Molly and Ted (horses), Maple and Waffle (doggies), Bobbin and Stitch (cats) and Huffle, Puff and Sprout (Guinea pigs).

I'm a military wife, married to a REME Major, James, currently living at Wattisham Airfield.

I qualified as a human osteopath in 2009 from the British School of Osteopathy - now the University College of Osteopathy. Shortly after I qualified as an animal osteopath at the Osteopathic Centre for Animals in Wantage.

I have two human practices - one at CrossFit Colchester and another at my livery yard in Great Bardfield - and I travel the length of Essex and Suffolk treating animals!

I LOVE animals! Always have done, when I was younger I was known as the family vet! Having struggled with Chemistry A-Level I decided that being a vet possibly wasn't on the cards for me and decided on the next best thing! What I wasn't counting on is how much I also love working with people! I have the best of both worlds and absolutely LOVE what I do!

Things you may not know about me:

I am an Harry Potter fanatic! If I'm not listening to one of the books it will be a podcast about them. Luckily I spend a lot of time in the car so I have plenty of opportunity to listen away to my hearts content - perfect escapism!

I'm terrified of heights - which is why I rarely stand on anything to treat horses. Weirdly the only time I'm comfortable up high is on a horse!

I love cheese - any cheese, the stinkier the better! On toast, in pasta, with apples, on its own - it is definitely the way to my heart!

I run a networking group called 'For the Good of the Horse' - providing support for Equine Professionals around Essex and Suffolk. We have many events running through the year so head over t our Facebook and instagram pages @for_the_good_of_the_horse for more info

I am a Rock Tape instructor! For the last few years I have been lecturing for RockTape around the country teaching people how to tape horses! Yes you can do that! Keep an eye on my blog for future posts about RockTape.

I plan to use my blog to bring you not only an insight into my life but also to share my knowledge to help you reach optimum wellness. Please subscribe to the mailing list to receives updates regularly and keep an eye on my social media to hear when the new blogs are up!

For now, keep moving as movement is medicine and I hope to see you soon!

Susannah
